Guest Post: Tina and "Rita"

Tina and "Rita" sat by each other in my class and decided they would check in with each other after the class so neither would get another DUI. Great strategy, ladies. Below is what each wrote.

Well my DUI was 20 years ago. I was 23 at the time. 

It happened. I have learned from this class that Carol taught that drinking and driving never mix. I could have killed myself or someone else. 

Since then I have had to depend on others for everything. THE LAST TWENTY YEARS! I have had to get rides to work stores, and even this class. Lots of money I have had to fork out over the last twenty years, yet God has really blessed me.

This experience humbled me because now I give more thought to the next person before I get on the road. 

I've spoken to my child about this experience on what to do and what not to do. I've talked to others so they can get a better idea of what could happen in you get on the road with alcohol in your system. 

It humbled me. Hope my experience can help someone else.

      Thanks. Your blog didn't work for me when I clicked on your link. I moved from Florida and so no longer teach these classes. I am now working in a counseling dissertation on caregiving. I may post on this subject in the future, but mainly write two ither blogs. Comments are moderated because I did have an Internet bully. I rap at MC AC The Rap Lady on YouTube where there is a rap called "Addiction".

    Hey there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
    My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to
    no backup. Do you have any methods to prevent hackers?

      No problems with hackers, but had an Internet bully on another blog and so I moderate all comments now.

      If you have a blogger dashboard, add it there. Then keep checking back. I do not send out email. Since I retired from teaching these classes in Florida and moved to another state, I do not see myself writing here often. There is an YouTube channel with my "Addiction Rap" at MC AC The Rap Lady.

Thanks for your careful reflection here. Best to you as you continue to not drive impaired by alcohol or other drugs; also DO not text and eat while driving. Pull over to the side of the road if you need to do that.
